On September 28, 2016, Wags ‘N Whiskers founder and head trainer, Merritt Milam, spoke with People Pets regarding recently passed legislation that allows civilians in California to rescue pets from hot cars. In the article, Merritt stresses the importance of the animal’s survival. “In the event that you come across a dog or cat in immediate distress inside the car, I would break the window farthest away from the animal,” Merritt told People.
