Wags University is Open for Enrollment

Merritt Milam | January 22, 2015

January is National Train Your Dog Month, and we couldn’t think of a better time to introduce Wags University, our training program with classes designed for dogs from all walks of life!

Training is one of the most important parts of raising a dog. Well-trained dogs make for well-behaved dogs that can make life easier for both the pet and its owner. Whether it’s learning how to sit, walk on a loose leash, interact with other dogs or learn impressive cues and tricks, your dog can accomplish great things through training. In addition, spending time together in training classes can greatly strengthen the bond between a dog and its owner.
At Wags University, we offer a number of training classes for both puppies and adult dogs. Our classes range from basic obedience to Canine Good Citizen Certification. Our experienced trainers recognize that each canine has specific needs, which is why we work closely with owners to determine the best individualized training program that will achieve desired results.

We’ve learned that in order to communicate clearly and consistently with your dog, you need to understand how he or she learns. To accomplish the most successful training results that fit your lifestyle, we offer private, group and family sessions. We encourage multiple family members to attend!
Compassion drives all of our actions at Wags ‘n Whiskers and we strive to demonstrate this in everything we do. We are one of the few training facilities in the Birmingham area that solely uses positive reinforcement training, an approach that applies encouragement, rather than punishment techniques.

Currently, we offer the following training classes:
