On July 24, 2015, Merritt Milam and Camp Wags regular Riggs, a miniature Australian shepherd, appeared on ABC 33/40’s Talk of Alabama morning show to educate pet owners about precautionary measures they should take to keep their pets safe in the summer heat. During the segment, Merritt discussed physical signs of overheating in pets, understanding that your dog is exponentially hotter than you are and the importance of leaving your pet in the shade, with water and in air conditioning, if possible.
