A Rescue Needs You…and You Need Them!

Merritt Milam | October 2, 2022

We could talk about the fact that approximately 6.3 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. Additional data offers that approximately 920,000 shelter animals are euthanized (390,000 dogs and 530,000 cats). However, more uplifting news shows that approximately 4.1 million shelter animals are adopted each year…and Wags Way Home Rescue is a proud part of those adoption success stories.

Wags Way Home is not only focused on rehoming forgotten pets but they’re also dedicated to helping them better adapt to their new, forever family. The main difference between W²H and other rescues is the dedication to training and behavior modification.

Who is Wags Way Home (W²H)?

Wags Way Home is a rescue supported through Wags ’n Whiskers Comprehensive Pet Care and dedicated to finding forever homes for the pets brought into the rescue. We are also dedicated to providing behavior modification and training to help approved animals stay in their current homes or become better suited for adoption into their forever home. Training provided to rescues will be funded by monetary or service donations, allowing us to continue helping other rescues achieve the same goal.

How Wags Way Home Finds Its Rescues?

Rescues come to W²H in various ways. They have either been surrendered by owners, dropped and abandoned, or via reliable friends who are close to someone needing to rehome a pet.
W²H then begins a vetting process to learn more about the pet’s general health and personality along with potential needs.

Our rescues are taken in and kept isolated from our daycare Campers until they are fully vetted.

How You Can Support The Rescue?

W²H welcomes any donated pet items like food, bedding, leashes, collars, and other pet care articles. We also appreciate volunteers who can foster pets or help as a walking buddy. Monetary donations are also welcomed.
